HBUFC
Hout Bay United Football Community is a Cape Town-based nonprofit that uses football as a catalyst for social change in Hout Bay. Their goals focus on uniting the community, getting kids off the streets, and developing young people through mentorship and coaching that support life skills, schoolwork, and football ability.
The club has attracted international attention through its connection with Jurgen Klopp, highlighting the impact a local community club can have far beyond its suburb.
UBUNTU
Ubuntu Football was founded in 2011 by Casey Prince and Michael Jenkins in Cape Town’s Deep South and operates as a nonprofit academy built around leadership, education, and football excellence. The academy model is long-term and structured, combining player development with an education pathway through its independent school and related support systems.
Ubuntu also runs community programmes such as Skills School and Football Forward to identify talent and broaden access to quality coaching for young players. Their approach is often described as using football to help transform boys into men, with mentorship as a core pillar alongside performance.
CAPE TOWN CITY FC
Cape Town City FC is a professional club that puts a strong emphasis on structured development and building pathways from community football into the elite game. Through DreamClub100, the club connects with amateur clubs across the Cape and uses that network to widen access to scouting and development opportunities.
The DreamClub100 tournament is positioned as a talent ID platform where standout youth players can earn opportunities to progress into higher level environments.
Stellenbosch FC
Stellenbosch FC have built a reputation for consistently producing top youth talent, with a development culture that supports players on and off the pitch. Their youth structures include specialist support such as sports psychology and chaplaincy, reinforcing that player wellbeing is treated as part of performance.
The club regularly competes in major youth tournaments, including campaigns at the Bayhill Premier Cup, keeping their players tested against top opposition.
Hamiltons FC
Hamiltons Football Academy is known for producing highly competitive youth teams and for building a demanding development environment from early age groups through to senior levels. The academy’s coaching structure is led by a CAF-licensed Head of Youth, Waleed Abrahams, whose experience includes exposure to major international academies and federations.
Hamiltons also highlight their international competition experience and notable success in youth tournaments as part of their pathway for ambitious players.
D6 FC
District Six FC is a Cape Town club with a base in District Six and another base in Mitchells Plain, giving it a wide community footprint. They compete in the Two Oceans City Stream LFA, providing consistent competitive football for their players across the season.
The club positions itself as more than football, aiming to be a catalyst for change while nurturing young talent and strengthening community ties.
Antalyaspor JPM
Antalyaspor JPM is a Cape Town-based youth club building a reputation for strong player development and competitive performances in the local game. The club has earned attention through cup success and the progress of players who have moved into bigger professional environments, showing that its pathway is producing talent with real potential. Their focus on character, coaching and match exposure makes them a good example of an ambitious development club in the city
Eagles PA
Eagles PA is a Cape Town development club competing in the Two Oceans LFA City Stream, where it gives young players regular exposure to organised, competitive football.
